Philip Connolly

Philip George Connolly (1899–1970) was a New Zealand politician of the Labour Party.

He represented the Dunedin West electorate from 1943 to 1946, and then the Dunedin Central electorate from 1946 to 1963: when he retired.

He had previously worked in the NZR Hillside Workshops, and in World War II served in the Royal New Zealand Navy in the Atlantic and Pacific, commanding minesweeper HMS Deodar and antisubmarine vessel HMNZS Moa.

He was a Cabinet Minister, and was Minister of Defence from 1957 to 1960 in the Second Labour Government.
